This policy explains how PolyBuzz AI researches, writes, and stands behind its coverage of AI character chat, roleplay, and AI companion apps. It exists so you can judge our work by a public standard rather than take it on faith.

Our purpose

We cover one thing and try to cover it well: AI companion and roleplay apps for adults. Every guide is written to help a reader decide quickly and without regret, which means plain language, honest trade-offs, and no hype the product cannot back up. The people behind that work are named on the Editorial Team page.

How we research and test

We use a companion the way a paying subscriber would. That means real time with chat, voice, image, and video, working through the free tier first and paying for a plan when a closer look is warranted. Price is checked at the actual checkout rather than the landing page, because the two so often disagree, and features are judged on how they behave in use, not how they read in a feature list.

Sourcing and fact-checking

Any factual claim about market size, safety, popularity, or the technology is traced to a named, verifiable source before it is published. We favour primary and authoritative sources, and we cite them openly so you can check for yourself. When sources disagree, we say so rather than pick the tidiest number. A second read happens before anything goes live.

How we use AI

We work in a field built on AI, and we use it ourselves, but with limits. AI tools may assist with early drafts or background research; they never have the final word. Nothing reaches a reader without a person writing, verifying, and taking responsibility for it. Statistics, quotes, and citations produced with any assistance are checked against the original source by hand.

Corrections and updates

When we get something wrong, we fix it in the open and note that we did. Coverage is also revisited on a rolling cycle, because an app that looked solid one season can quietly change its data terms the next. If you spot an error, tell us through the Contact page and we will act on it.

Independence and funding

PolyBuzz AI is funded by affiliate commissions, disclosed plainly on the Affiliate Disclosure. Commercial arrangements never decide a verdict. Coverage is written first, and links are added afterwards, only to products we would recommend to someone we know.
